Downsizing With Ease was developed because of what I believe to be a huge gap in the market, delivering a service that actually helps and assists people through the process when downsizing from the family home and moving into smaller accommodation.

Yes, a removalist can come in, quote on the move, possibly pre-pack household items before the move, move and then unpack the goods if you require that service. Ryde Furniture Freighters, owned by my husband Malcolm and myself (at right), has been doing that for more than ten years.

However, over the past few years it has become increasingly apparent that there is a need for something much more hands-on. Basically, a gentle helping hand to assist people through that period.

Ryde Furniture Freighters has moved many over-55s into smaller houses and retirement villages. Time and again we have seen people try and shoehorn a family home into a two bedroom villa, then cope with the stress of trying to sort it all out and declutter their new home. Downsizing With Ease has grown from us helping people sort their furniture and other possessions out on a casual basis before such a move. Our removalist eyes have years of expertise when it comes to knowing how much furniture will comfortably fit in a room; and our compassion and practicality will help you and your possessions get to that point.
